Sugar mills across the provinces will start crushing season from 30th November.

Provincial Minister Agriculture Punjab, Nauman Ahmed Langrial said that sugar mills across the provinces will start crushing season from 30th November. He said the sugar mills are bound to purchase sugarcane from the farmers at the rate of Rs 180 per maund and legal action will be taken against the sugar mills buying sugarcane at low prices. He assured that payment of Rs 180 per maund sugarcane to the farmers will be ensured at every cost.

In addition to that loans will be provided to the farmers having less than 10 acres, so that they would be able to meet their agricultural needs and increase their agricultural production. He said this while addressing the seminar held in association with Agriculture Department and Pakistan Crop Production Association Agriculture, about effective production of wheat and other oil seed crops. He said that the Government has set agriculture development as its first priority. Because Pakistan is basically an agricultural country which is not only fulfilling its agricultural needs, but also earn a significant amount by exporting additional agricultural products.
