Sandy soils with good drainage are suitable for groundnut cultivation

Farmers should cultivate groundnut in sandy soils having good drainage system. Deep plowing should be done while preparing the soil so that the topsoil is completely submerged and weeds are also destroyed. Cultivation should be done in March to April in rain fed areas. Groundnut Varieties include Bari 2000 Border 479 Golden and Bari 2011, recommended Seed rate 70 kg/acre.
