An official from Agriculture Department of Punjab shared that department has already started sending their pest scouting experts to cotton growing areas in order to look after one of country’s cash crop. These experts will monitor and take care the crop at every stage. Agriculture department also urges farmers to perform pest scouting twice a week while experts will also remained there till harvesting for farmers training and guidance. Cotton sowing has already been done in 20 districts of Punjab. Cotton growers can get guidance from Agriculture department or the designated staff anytime during or after the cultivation. Department also introduced helpline 0800-15000 for farmers’ support. Officials told that agriculture department’s staff is readily accessible for any farmer and they will provide any available support to make excellent production this time. Farmers with extra ordinary production will also be rewarded.
