Seed germination refers to the beginning of new life and agriculture production is totally depending on the viability of the seed. The use of herbicides is one of the main factors which affect the germination of seed. The best time to apply the weedicide is pre-emergence (before 7-10 days of seed sowing) or after 30-40 days of sprouting. Never use herbicide immediately after sowing the seeds because it may inhibit the germination due to highly toxic substances. Their toxicity may not be absolutely specific to the target organisms but can adversely affect different processes in the non-target host plants.
