Farmers should harvest the maize crop on time because climate change, less sunshine, and humidity in the atmosphere are likely to damage the crop. Maize crop is harvested when the cob sheath dries completely and the corner of grains turns black. Cobs are removed from the plants and dried under sunlight until the moisture content of the grains is below 15 percent. Farmers should invert the corn-cobs that kept for drying after harvesting so that they dry well.
