Lahore: The provincial capital witnessed a sharp downfall in livestock prices here in Lahore during the past 27 days since then live poultry reduced by Rs.32, Chicken meat reduced by Rs.46 and eggs being sold at price discounted by Rs. 9. Poultry business owners explained this downfall due to high supply as compare to low demand in the market. Over the past month dated 27 March live chicken was at Rs. 182 while meat has been sold at Rs. 264/kg and eggs were at Rs. 84/dozen. During current month on 22nd April live chicken’s price was 150, chicken meat at Rs.218/kg and eggs are being sold at Rs.75/dozen. All Paksitan Poultry Association said that this reduction in prices being caused due increased supply as compare to low rate of demand in the market. Representative from Poultry Association mentioned that in Lahore live chicken is being sold at Rs.160 reduced by Rs.25, chicken meat at Rs.265/kg reduced by Rs.50. Same case is observed in Karachi where live chicken being sold at Rs.176 reduced by Rs.30 and chicken meat at Rs.290/kg reduced by Rs.60. Eggs are also reduced by Rs. 7 and there price per dozen is Rs.76.
