Farmers should protect vegetables from harmful insect pests.

Agriculture experts said that vegetable growers should control destructive insect pests so that production per acre can be increased. In order to increase production and save nutritional value of vegetables, insect pests must be controlled. They said, to protect vegetables from sucking insects growers should remove weeds from the field. Eliminating weeds will aid in control of pests. Sucking insects spread several virus diseases, reduce vigor and yield of plants, and contaminate leaves. Resistant varieties should be cultivated so that chance of disease and insect pests is reduced. Seed should be treated with proper fungicide before sowing. Due to seed treatment crop will be protected from sucking insects during early growth stages.
