Cage culture will be introduced for fish farming in rivers and water courses

The government has decided to introduce the cage (cage) culture for fisheries in rivers, lakes, and in running water for catering the increase in the demand for growing fish and to increase its production, for its project China will provide support. According to sources, the present government has decided to adopt modern ways for promoting the fisheries sector. Sources said that the cage culture method will be used in rivers, drains and canals, for which the cages will be installed in underwater and fishes will be left in the underwater cage .The system will be planted there where water flow annually. In order to make the running underwater cage, lease will be given to the people belonging to the area of fisheries or also given to farmers with rights of fishery, as well as trout fish farming will also be started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. In this regard, the ministry officials said that the Ministry is preparing a Agricultural Emergency Program for the improvement and development of the agricultural sector, under which 9.3 billion rupees will be spent on the fishermen sector.
