Cabbage is found to be more nutritious than cauliflower. It provides unique health benefits and comes in many varieties. Cabbage is a cool season crop. The optimum temperature range for its production is 15 to 20°C. Fertile soil rich in organic matter should be selected for its cultivation. Seedlings should be transplanted during November. Transplanting should be done evening time, so that the roots establish themselves without any stress. Before transplanting proper water should be given, so that when seedlings are uprooted no damage occurs. For planting, seedlings should be gently press into the soil and soil should be soaked around new seedlings immediately after transplanting. 15 days after transplanting dead plants should be removed and new plants should be planted in placement. Irrigation should be done at an interval of 15 days.
